Primary Purpose of Position: The Media Relations Specialist is a member of the Marketing and Communications team and will understand company goals and strategy. This individual will serve as a liaison between the organization and public media. The Media Relations Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and developing Partner’s press and media outreach, creating unique and quality content, and placing articles that enhance the organization’s media presence and highlight its community focus. They will also provide general writing and editing support in a Marketing and Communications department that requires a shared approach to work and a willingness to take on whatever task is at hand. This position will report to the Director Marketing and Communications and will also work closely with the Chief Administrative Officer to identify media outreach opportunities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Education/Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in public relations, communications, journalism, English or related field. At least two years solid experience in a media or public relations environment. Three to five years of experience in media outreach is preferred. Experience in health care or behavioral health/IDD industry desired. Local management entity/managed care organization experience a plus.
