Job Description

About this job:

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Reinsurance Closing Analyst to join our global team.

The Reinsurance Closing team is responsible for quarterly and yearly closing processes by assuring high levels of data quality. In this role, you will be an integral part of the team and have the opportunity to execute your assigned tasks in a self-organized manner, supporting various internal and external stakeholders.

About the role:

The role provides the opportunity for making a step further in the Finance and Reinsurance area, with exposure to US GAAP, IFRS, Solvency II and other local reporting bases.

You are interested in the Reinsurance industry, have a proactive personality, are self-driven and are able to easily grasp new concepts. With your excellent analytical skills, an eye for details as well as the ability to excel in a challenging and fast paced environment, you will contribute to the team`s success. Your tasks will include the following:

  • Peer review calculation, analysis and monitoring of premium and commission estimates for a portfolio of clients.
  • Handling of internal retrocession processes & related interaction with Legal Entity CFO’s
  • Review of reconciliations between sub and general ledger
  • Internal and external reporting (GAAP, regulatory and statutory reporting)
  • Support of the external and internal audit process
  • Portfolio analyses
  • Cooperation with and support of functional areas such as Finance, Reserving, Operation teams
  • Providing support to managers on projects and ad hoc requests

Qualifications

About you:

You are a motivated, highly organized person with a solution-oriented mind set, enjoying collaboration as well as working on your own with the following key skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in Reinsurance Closing/Accounting or in a similar role
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem identification and resolution skills with clear attention to details.
  • Strong IT skills including experience and skilled use of Microsoft Excel and SAP Business Object, knowledge in DXC SICS is a plus.
  • Openness for continuous improvement and can-do attitude
  • Ability to thrive in high stress environment with tight deadlines
  • Fluency in English
