In this role you will get to in utilizing analysis methods and practices with a passion for providing systems support on a variety of highly complex tasks, to support the Short and Intermediate Effectors for Layered Defense (SHIELD) Project Office which is the Army’s centralized manager for short/medium range air defense systems. What You'll Be Doing: Provide support to the SHIELD portfolio of systems as a member of the SHIELD Quality and Reliability Engineering Directorate team conducting Stress derating analysis, Circuit and tolerance analysis, Reliability analysis and failure rate estimation, Solder joint reliability Provide engineering support by developing/assessing qualification and screening requirements, Developing reliability test criteria Functional testing, Electronic assembly requirements and processes, Failure analysis, root cause and corrective action, Tin whisker risk mitigation. Assist with Parts obsolescence management. What Required Skills You'll Bring: BS or MS engineering degree and typically 10 years of related professional experience Expertise in electronic, electrical, and electromechanical component engineering - focused on quality and reliability Familiarity with related standards, such as MIL-STD-11991, IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, GEIA-STD-0005-2, GEIA-STD-0006, IPC-60XX, MIL-HDBK-338, MIL-PRF-38535, MIL-PRF-55681, MIL-PRF-55342, Automotive Electronics Council Q100/Q101/Q200/Q006 Possess a Secret Security Clearance What Desired Skills You'll Bring: Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills Proficient with basic computer systems including Microsoft Outlook and Office applications Ability to provide engineering support with limited supervision and the ability to prioritize work, complete multiple tasks, be detail oriented, and adaptable to different work environments Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret This position is part of our Federal Solutions team.
