Job Description: PROJECT: Parsons is managing a Technical Services (TS) program for an agency within the Department of Defense to review third party A/E work; conduct studies, analysis, testing and measuring; perform specialized engineering services, planning and design reviews; commissioning services; construction oversight on worldwide delivery orders, and information technology (IT) support. RESPONSIBLITIES: Parsons is seeking a Technical Document Specialist to perform the following: • Assists with developing recommendations and guidance documentation for new or revised processes. • Support business process development and data management initiatives. • Prepare various status reports. • Proofreads and performs writing and editing functions, including formatting and stylesheet verification, copy editing, rewriting, revising, writing, proofreading, and production planning. • Ensures compliance of all assigned documents with their required presentation, correct use of paragraph headings and numbering, referencing of illustrative and tabular matter, and applicable bibliographic styles. • Ensures consistency in application of technical abbreviations and acronyms, figure and table callouts and captions, and handling of boilerplate materials. • Assists in developing and implementing standard procedures. • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. QUALIFICATIONS: • 4-year degree in Business Administration, English/Journalism, or related field. (Equivalent years of experience may be substituted for a degree)) • 10 years of demonstrated technical documentation experience • This is a full time position, based in Annapolis Junction, MD. • Must be US Citizen • ACTIVE TS/SCI w/ POLYGRAPH CLEARANCE REQUIRED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: • Business background with understanding of the process used for business planning. • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office software for production of documents. • Accuracy, attention to detail, consistency, and clarity in conformance with required formats and standards • Ability to work as part of a team. • Strong attention to details Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Top Secret SCI w/Polygraph This position is part of our Federal Solutions team.
