Parkview Animal Hospital, a small animal practice with two full time veterinarians, is looking for a full-time Veterinary Assistant.
The primary duties of this position are patient handling and care, preparing lab samples, stocking exam rooms, cleaning and sanitizing, completing clerical duties related to animal patient care and treatment and client services, prepping and monitoring patients during anesthetic procedures and assisting the veterinarian or technician with exams and treatments.
This position requires excellent canine and feline handling and restraint skills, practical knowledge of animal patient treatment, standard procedures, veterinary records, and terminology used in the hospital, as well as customer service, data entry, significant attention to detail and appointment scheduling skills.
Professional experience working with dogs and cats is required. A minimum of a high school degree required.
Applicants should be friendly, hard-working, self-motivated, and willing to contribute to a team. In addition, applicants must be extremely comfortable handling dogs and cats, dealing with needles, blood and other bodily fluids, and able to maintain professional composure during euthanasia and surgical procedures.
Pay is commensurate with experience.
