TPWD MISSION

To manage and conserve the natural and cultural resources of Texas and to provide hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation opportunities for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.

PHYSICAL WORK ADDRESS: TPWD Headquarters, 4200 Smith School Rd., Austin, TX 78744

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Performs moderately complex (journey-level) marketing work. Under the direction of the Communications Supervisor, this position is responsible for assisting in the implementation of complex, integrated and multicultural marketing campaigns and communication efforts for various Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) products, programs, and initiatives. Coordinates and manages various assigned projects, working closely with staff in fisheries, wildlife, or state parks divisions. Responsible for tracking results and helping to evaluate results, along with ensuring projects run on-time and on-budget. Coordinates estimates, timelines, and creative material with external advertisement agencies on primary revenue-generating campaigns. Works closely with TPWD’s interactive/creative services group on internal communication deliverables, such as web content and landing pages, print materials, and graphics. Provides tactical support on marketing key awareness and outreach campaigns and assists with the development of marketing plans and business plans. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.

Qualifications


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
:

Education:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree.

Experience:

Two years professional experience in marketing-related work, such as advertising account management or brand management.

Licensure:

If driving is required, applicant must possess a valid class “C” Texas driver’s license;

ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTIONS:

Education:

One additional year of the required experience may substitute for 30 semester hours of the required education, with a maximum substitution of 60 semester hours (i.e., two years).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or closely related field;

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher.

Experience:

Five years working in a marketing department or as an account manager for an advertisement agency;

Experience in project management;

Experience in copywriting for email, social media, online, and print;

Experience in developing and overseeing promotional partnerships;

Experience in developing online advertising and tracking and analyzing results;

Experience in Google Analytics;

Experience using Facebook Manager.

Language:

Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Skill in compiling research and other marketing related information;

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Required to work 40 hours per week Monday through Friday; alternative work schedule may be available;

This position is suitable to telework two days per week and the candidate may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval;

Required to work overtime as necessary;

Required to travel 5% with possible overnight stays;

Must conform to TPWD dress and grooming standards, work rules, and safety Procedures;

May be required to operate a State vehicle;

Non-smoking environment in State buildings and vehicles.
