Parkland Corporation is Hiring a Communications Specialist Near Houston, TX

Reporting to the Dir Corporate Communications with a dotted line to the US VP. P&C & Communications, the Communications Specialist will play a pivotal role in enhancing Parkland USA’s internal and external presence and engagement across various platforms. The Communications Specialist will craft compelling content for our retail and commercial business lines, social media, Town Halls, employee newsletters, and facilitating other various internal and external communications to ensure alignment and transparency within the organization to continually build and enhance the Parkland USA reputation within the Parkland brand.

Location: Open to branch locations; Houston, TX; Denver, CO; Salt Lake City, UT; Miami, FL; Minot, ND; Nampa, ID

Key Responsibilities:

Social Media Management:

  • Develop and implement social media strategies to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  • Create, schedule, and publish relevant content across various social media platforms.
  • Monitor social media channels for trends, comments, and feedback, and respond promptly and appropriately.
  • Analyze social media metrics and generate reports to rack performance and identify areas for improvement.

Town Halls and BPRO:

  • Coordinate and organize regular town hall meetings, both in-person and virtual, to facilitate open communication between leadership and employees.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather agenda topics, presentations, and updates for own hall meetings.

Employee Newsletters:

  • Produce regular employee newsletter featuring company updates, announcements, achievements, and employee spotlights.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather content and ensure alignment with organizational goals and values.

Internal Communications:

  • Develop and execute internal communication plans for retail and commercial business lines to disseminate important information, policies, and initiatives across the organization.
  • Utilize various channels to ensure effective communication with employees.
  • Collaborate with P&C, IT, and other departments to streamline internal communication processes and tools.
  • Monitor employee feedback and sentiment regarding internal communications and adjust as needed.
  • Work closely with Corporate Communications for corporate alignment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Proven experience in social media management, preferably in a corporate or organizational setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience in event planning and coordination, particularly town hall meetings or similar events.
  • Proficiency in content creation tools and platforms such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar.
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact) and analytics tools.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of internal communication best practices and trends.
  • Familiarity with employee engagement strategies and tactics.
  • Strong time management skills with the capability and flexibility to respond to critical deadlines, changing priorities and requirements.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
