Responsibilities:
The summer camp counselor is responsible for the care, implementation of daily activities and safety of children enrolled in summer camp. This person must model appropriate behavior for campers, such as respect for others, willingness to try new things with an open mind and setting boundaries. A counselor must be able to work independently under general direction and is expected to determine how to prioritize and accomplish tasks. This person will be expected to be punctual, communicate effectively, and manage time and task successfully. A successful candidate in this position will find an appropriate balance between accountability, safety, and fun.
Qualifications:
Education Experience -Must be at least 18 years of age and have a minimum of (1) year of relevant work experience. Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Language Skills- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general procedures and licensing regulations. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, coworkers, and the general public.
Reasoning Ability- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
