The Head Coach will perform all duties and services of a coach of the sport indicated faithfully, satisfactorily and at the time, place and duration prescribed by the Principal and Athletic Director of the students and sport involved. Coach shall comply with and abide by all rules and regulations promulgated by the Secondary Schools Athletic Commission (SSAC), Parkersburg Catholic School Board and all pertinent statutes of the State of West Virginia. All such rules, regulations and statutes are incorporated herein by this reference and are made part of this agreement as though fully set forth.
Qualifications: Valid WV teaching certification or WVDE teaching permit or substitute permit orHigh school diploma or GED WVSSAC certification Performance Responsibilities Professional and Interpersonal Relations Cooperates with building principal Cooperates with athletic director Develops rapport with coaching staff within the school Organizes coaching staff Develops positive relationships with participants, student body, faculty, parents, communtiy, officials, news media, and opponents.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective training programs for volleyball players
- Teach fundamental skills, strategies, and techniques of the game
- Plan and conduct practice sessions to improve players' performance
- Provide individualized coaching and feedback to players
- Organize and supervise team practices, games, and tournaments
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline among players
- Collaborate with other coaches to develop game plans and strategies
- Monitor player progress and make necessary adjustments to training programs
- Ensure the safety of players during practice sessions and games
Skills:
- Extensive experience in playing or coaching volleyball
- Knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies
- Ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate skills to players
- Strong leadership and motivational skills
- Experience working with students or young athletes
- Knowledge of other sports such as karate, cheerleading, basketball, or martial arts is a plus
- Excellent behavior management skills
- Ability to climb, swim, or perform physical activities related to coaching
