Summary: Overnight Adventure Camp is an adventure-based camp for kids in 5th and 6th grades (Junior) and for kids in 7th-9th grades (Senior). This is an 8-week position from June 10-August 2. Or the choice of a 3 week position from July 15- August 2, with a mandatory training week June 10-14. An additional opportunity may be available for a 1-week camp position August 5 to August 9. Camp staff hours are 8:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday, plus weekly multi-day overnight trips of 1-4 nights. Overtime is expected on campouts. No housing available.
Responsibilities: The camp leader will provide administrative assistance, coordinate daily activity plans, provide program leadership and supervision, enforce policies and procedures and serve as direct contact for parents. Staff duties also include supervising campers throughout the day and during overnight camping trips, transporting them to and from trips and leading campers in daily activities that may include games, swimming, hiking, rock climbing, caving, canoeing, cooking, fire building and camping.
Qualifications: Positive, enthusiastic, responsible individuals who enjoy and are experienced in working with children. Some knowledge of nature and outdoor recreation required. Lifeguard certification or ability to become certified, and/or experience driving a 15-passenger van a plus. Minimum age requirement 21 years old.
Schedule: 40 hours a week, with overtime expected on overnight trips
