Paramount Care Centers is Hiring a Maintance Worker Near Pennsauken, NJ

  • Works closely with and follows directions from the Maintenance Director;
  • Maintains building and grounds in a clean, safe and orderly condition;
  • Maintains and repairs basic functions of the facility as determined by the Maintenance Director;
  • Takes care of the tools and equipment;
  • Makes minor repairs on handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, Geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkling systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers, changes filters on HVAC equipment, carries, lifts and stocks supplies;
  • Assumes supervisor’s responsibilities in his/her absence;
  • Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights;
  • Performs other duties as requested.
  • Follow established fire safety policies and procedures.
  • Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.
  • Wear and/or use safety equipment and supplies when lifting or moving heavy objects.
  • Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
  • Keep work assignment areas free of hazardous objects, unnecessary equipment, supplies, etc.
  • Follow proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants, and solutions used in the work area. Refer to material safety data sheets (SDSs) when necessary.
  • Follow established policies governing the use of labels and SDSs.
  • Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to your supervisor.
  • Ensure that established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained when performing maintenance procedures.
  • Participate in an in-service training program before performing tasks involving potential exposure to blood, body fluids, or hazardous chemicals.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment and supplies when handling infectious materials.
  • Discard sharps into designated containers.
  • Follow established hand-washing procedures.
  • Dispose of refuse daily in accordance with our established sanitation procedures.
  • Follow established policies governing the use and disposal of personal protective equipment and disposal of infectious wastes.
  • Coordinate isolation procedures with nursing service.
    • Ensure that adequate suppliesaremaintained to meet the daily needs of the residents.
