Responsibilities/Qualifications:

Parallel has been in the senior living industry for over 35 years. We are hiring a Network Administrator to assist our team. We are looking for someone with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and three to five years of hands-on experience in network administration. We are looking for someone to contribute to our team and leverage their skills to optimize our network infrastructure and support our technological initiatives.

We are looking for someone with experience that spans across a diverse range of technologies, including but not limited to senior living systems, access control, and multi-function devices. This candidate must have successfully managed remote VPN connections, implemented security protocols such as multi-factor authentication, and provided comprehensive technical support to end-users across geographically distant locations, are keys to the perfect candidate for us. Another requirement is possessing excellent communication skills and able to thrive in collaborative environments and the ability to work alone. Significant travel is required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • Three to five years of practical experience in a similar role.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience or knowledge of senior living, nurse call systems, access control, Yardi, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with configuring, installing, and troubleshooting various hardware including desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, etc.
  • Experience with multi-function copy/print/scan devices.
  • Supporting users across multiple geographically distant locations, including remote VPN connections.
  • Proficiency with Active Directory, Group Policy, Access Control Lists, and understanding of security implications.
  • Understanding and experience with multi-factor authentication and its role in organizational security.
  • Installation and configuration of network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, cameras, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience supporting Windows Server and Windows Desktop Operating Systems.
  • Experience supporting a Remote Desktop Services environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Exchange Online, and Office 365 Environments.
  • Providing helpdesk and technical support services to end users for supported systems and applications.
  • Training end users on line of business applications, both locally and remotely.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask across multiple trouble tickets.
  • Installing and troubleshooting Endpoint Security software, Remote Management and Monitoring tools, etc.
  • Knowledge of backup and recovery software, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation, training materials, and inventory of IT assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Configure, install, and maintain network infrastructure and related hardware.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end users and line of business applications.
  • Conduct training sessions for end users on various applications and technologies.
  • Monitor and manage security protocols, including multi-factor authentication and access control.
  • Ensure data backup and recovery processes are effective and up-to-date.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, and inventory of IT assets.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize network performance and security.
  • Manage the IT support technician and delegate lower-level IT tasks to ensure the most efficient use of talent for each assignment.
  • Maintain company hardware and software programs.
  • Update technological equipment in the company.
  • Implement company-wide technology updates and hold sessions to teach employees on new features.
  • Ability to explain highly technical concepts in simple terms.
  • Knowledge of best computer security practices.
  • A clear understanding of client/server technology and network architecture.
  • Great project management skills, including organization, planning, time management, and prioritization.
  • Monitor security certificates and company compliance of requirements.
  • Offer technical support to company staff and troubleshoot computer problems.
  • Install and update company software and hardware as needed.
  • Anticipate and report the cost of replacing or updating computer items.
  • Significant travel to user location sites.
