Paragon D&E is Hiring a CMM Operator – Night Shift Near Grand Rapids, MI

Operate the CMM, Romer Arm and other quality equipment with a high degree of accuracy and speed including programming and disposition of OMV (On Machine Verification) files for machines with OMV capabilities to verify that products meet Paragon and customer quality requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned

  • Proactively reviewing the schedule board for the priority of work to be performed
  • Reviewing Manufacturing Plans for the type of inspection required, job requirements and line up
  • Proficiently operates coordinate measuring machine, Romer Arm and other measurement equipment
  • Interprets drawings that include Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and translates that information, to ensure manufactured products meet internal engineering and customer dimensional specifications.
  • Learning to program PC DMIS for OMV, and disposition OMV results.
  • Performs needed quality inspections including completing customer required reports
  • Maintaining calibration and certifications for Paragon and employee hand-tools.
  • Notifies both Project Leads and Program Managers when part does meet specifications, including identifying out of tolerance conditions, and explaining in detail.
  • Troubleshooting and offering solutions when parts do not meet specification
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities to improve processes and product quality and efficiencies including inspection methods.
  • Completing receiving inspections when required
  • Comply with Paragon’s 5S program by contributing to continuous improvement, productivity, quality, cost reduction, safety and housekeeping.
  • Supporting the AS9100 and NQA-1 system and requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Two-year degree, preferably Engineering, or 5 years of experience in the mold making industry. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must. Experience with an ERP system is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
