Paradigm Information Services is Hiring a Shipping and Receiving Associate Near Tigard, OR
- Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks and checking in merchandise.
- Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards.
- Transact customer orders using both carrier and ERP systems.
- Providing quality control inspections, as necessary, within the workflow.
- Package and tape international shipments in multi-pack cartons for export.
- Affix shipping labels on packed cartons.
- Take an accurate inventory count at the end of each day.
- Package product for shipping; ensuring all necessary product cables and instructions are in box.
- Assemble cardboard cartons as needed for large, multi-pack shipments.
- Move prepared shipments from shipping cart to dock door as needed.
- Call and/or email forwarding companies to arrange pick-up.
- Consign shipments to forwarders and ensures the correct shipments are consigned to the forwarder by listening carefully and checking documents.
- Maintain good communication and rapport with co-workers.
- Ensure shipping area is kept organized and neat.
- Keep supervisor informed of issues on the shipping floor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2 – 3 years of related experience.
- Must be able to work M-Th shift from 5:00am to 3:30pm.
- Experience in packaging and shipping is preferred.
- Ability to adjust work pace in response to daily needs.
- Able to multi-task and be flexible in a dynamic work environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Problem solving
- Demonstrated ability to learn new software/applications.
- Computer Skills: Excel, Word, Outlook.
- General knowledge of domestic and international shipping (UPS World Ship and Fed Ex Ship Manager systems preferred).
- Knowledge of ERP systems preferred.
- Forklift Certification required either upon hire or ability to obtain certification within the first three months of employment.
- Attendance is a critical function of this position.
