As a Civil Engineering Project Manager, you will work at our Grand Rapids or Phoenix office  to lead technical responsibility of a team of civil engineers, architects, and sub-consultants from the conceptual design of a project through the necessary approvals and permitting required to deliver a successful project. Projects will range from mixed-use, municipal, industrial warehousing and processing, charter schools, residential, and retail sectors. In this role, example responsibilities and activities include: 

• Establish and manage project scope, approval process, project staffing and timeline, budgets, and billings
• Maintain open communication with the client and throughout the project team
• Utilize your knowledge and skills to ensure all due diligence, entitlements, site plan approval, construction documents, building permits, construction certifications are obtained
• Participates and manages construction contract administration process
• Promotes Paradigm’s Quality Assurance and Quality Control Program
• Completes projects of considerable scope and complexity. Also serves as a technical specialist for the company with exceptional expertise in a particular area and as such keeps abreast of new methods and developments in this area for the purpose of recommending changes to Paradigm
• Performs marketing activities and coordinates those efforts with a Principal or Department Manager
• Prepares proposals with Principal or Department Manager for potential projects and or contract modifications, and in the negotiations of fees

We believe a successful  Civil Engineering Project Manager  will come equipped with the following: 

• 10-15 years of experience in the construction or design industry, and 2-5 years of project management experience – required
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering - preferred
• Professional Engineer Licensed - required
• Strong background in site design, approvals and permitting -  required
• Strong work ethic, dedication, and professionalism in your own work. Be punctual, organized, and demonstrate a positive attitude to motivate your team. Approach challenges with a proactive mindset, analyzing situations, and making informed decisions in a timely manner. -  required
• Excellent client-facing and internal technical communication skills -  required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills -  required
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills -  required
