As a core member of our hospitals, RVTs will get leadership opportunities, options to foster community, and chances drive sustainable growth.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help support DVM's with their outpatient and hospitalized cases, ability to appropriately triage cases, and support staff with their needs.
  • Provide outstanding client communication and education to give feedback and receive constructive criticism in real time.
  • Provide empathetic and helpful interaction to clients, vendors, peers, and managers.
  • Maintain safe, clean environments for the patients, clients, and staff.
  • Adaptability to an ever-changing environment, where urgent or emergent cases will be taken as they arrive.
  • Provide solid technical skills including but not limited to various blood draw techniques, IV catheter placement, intubating patients for anesthesia, inducing and monitoring anesthesia, assisting with and recovering patients with sedated and anesthetic procedures, administering drugs various routes, medication calculations including CRIs and dilutions, knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs, proper patient handling and housing and in-house laboratory.
  • Take initiative by preparing next steps for patients based on current knowledge/previous experience to have DVM adjust, authorize, and approve.
  • Review treatment plans and records to determine what information and resources are readily available to execute DVM's suggested treatment plan.
  • Provide and explain alternative financial resources before removing suggested treatment from an estimate.
  • Have sound judgement regarding prioritization, next steps and in communication with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Function independently and with a team to advocate for the patient while providing exceptional comfort, diagnostic, surgical, and nursing care to all patients.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • RVT License for minimum of 1 year
  • Minimum of 5 years in veterinary medicine (preferred)
  • Ability and desire to see urgent cases
  • Ability to mentor and train support staff
  • Willing and able to work in an ever-changing environment.
  • Self-starters, compassionate and team-oriented people with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
