PANAVISION is Hiring a HD Camera Service Technician - Panavision Hollywood Near Hollywood, CA
Job Scope: Maintain and perform quality control procedures for digital camera systems and electronic accessories. Work in conjunction with other departments and immediate coworkers to provide technical support to our clients and Panavision staff.Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a technical liaison between clients and marketing.
- Work with prep staff and act as technical interface for production crews.
- Anticipate client needs and be responsive to changing needs.
- Provide technical assistance to our clients in house, via telephone, online meeting, or by travelling to their location to trouble shoot and solve their technical problems.
- Assist other Panavision employees with technical issues. Answer questions and give advice regarding proper usage of equipment.
- Train co-workers and educate clients on current cameras and recording systems.
- Keep up to date on current image capture technologies including software updates.
- Keep up to date on current workflows for our camera systems.
- Maintain service records of client issues, along with suggested solutions and equipment repairs.
- Perform basic service tests and quality control procedures for digital systems.
- Inspect equipment for damage or defects per Panavision specifications.
- Document damages and notify supervisors of any damages.
- Provide minor repairs and service procedures as per Panavision specifications.
- Ability to multi-task and remain flexibility towards changes in scheduled duties daily.
- Responsible for documenting and updating all service and repairs performed in Pinnacle software program.
- Participate in weekly Departmental meetings.
- Should have own tools and toolbox to perform necessary service and minor repair on cameras.
- Other tasks as assigned or required.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Cinematography basic (exposure, FPS, f-stops, shutter angles).
- intermediate to advanced knowledge of Digital Cinema Cameras and accessories.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Digital Cinema basics (white balance, color space, gamma, resolution, sensor size, large formats.).
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Post Workflow and Data Management.
- Understanding of camera formats, aspect ratios, codecs, filenames/wrappers, camera raw, and recording media.
- Must have working knowledge of the following computer software: DaVinci Resolve, Arriraw Converter, Codex VFS, Red Cine X, and various NLE's.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and computer hardware installation.
- Ability to perform software updates on Digital Cameras.
- Willingness to monitor and investigate new and emerging trends and technology related to Digital Cinema.
- Willingness to train both employees and clients.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills.
- Must have extensive customer service training.
