Open Until Filled BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Under supervision of the Director of Special Education or his/her Designee, the Mental Health Clinician will provide a full range of Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) including assessment, development of individual treatment plans, and goals and objectives; individual, group and family counseling; and collaboration with school and district staff as identified for implementation through the IEP.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Assess and create intervention plans consistent with best practices and evidence-based treatments.
• Provide consultation and support to teachers, school psychologists, and other school staff.
• Provide training for school staff in prevention and proactive pre-referral and behavioral support systems.
• Provide individual, group and family therapy services at various locations within the district.
• Complete required charting and documentation for students receiving ERMHS services.
• Ensure that clinical records are accurate, current, and meet program compliance requirements.
• Conduct observations, interviews and assessments.
• Create social emotional goals for IEPs.
• Monitor progress and collect data related to IEP goals.
• Work closely with outside mental health providers.
• Participate in other special assessments, individual therapy plans and other meetings as required.
• Maintain knowledge of community resources and agencies and refer families and children to available services.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Required
  • Master’s degree from an accredited university and/or college with major coursework in social work, psychology, and counseling or closely related field.
  • Must possess one of the following valid California licenses: Marriage Family Therapist (MFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist; or possess a Pupil Personnel Services Credential authorizing services as a School Psychologist; or possess intern registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), or Marriage Family Therapist Intern (MFTi).
  • At least one year full-time experience in providing mental health services, social services, case management, and counseling with children under the supervision of a Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) approved supervisor.
  • Candidates from out of state who hold a comparable license may be considered with the stipulation that they are eligible for an appropriate California license and obtain the license within one year of employment within this classification.
  • Experience in developing treatment plans, providing direct individual and group services, monitoring progress with data, and knowledge of appropriate documentation for medical billing purposes.
  • Ability to work effectively with staff, administrators and public agencies.
  • Willingness and ability to complete district provided 20 hour ProAct Crisis Intervention Training within the first 90 days of hire.
  • Possession of Valid California Driver’s license and personal automobile for use on district business.
  • Willingness to conduct home visits and provide consultation services to families in the home setting.

  • Familiarity with IEPs and experience working with children and families receiving special education services.
  • Experience working with children with both internalizing and externalizing behaviors.

SALARY AND TERMS OF SERVICE:
Daily Pay Rate: 336.94
