Position Summary
Palatine Community Baseball and Softball (PCBS) is looking for softball and baseball umpires for the 2024 season. There are umpiring opportunities for all levels of experience from beginners through IHSA-patched umpires. Umpire training is provided and mandatory for new umpires beginning in February.
Minimum Requirements
- Must possess a general understanding of baseball and softball
- Willingness to gain a better understanding of the game
- Must turn 14 years old by May 1, 2024 (individuals under 16 years old must obtain a work permit)

Training begins the week of February 12, 2024 and concludes the week of March 11, 2024. Games begin in mid-April and run through mid-July.

Below are the pay rates for each game:
- IHSA Patched - $80 (all games regardless of league level)
- Bronco/D1 Softball - $50
- Mustang/Stallion - $45
- Pinto/D2 Softball - $40
