Pain & Rehabilitative Consultants Medical Group is Hiring a Front Desk Medical Receptionist Near Emeryville, CA

A multidisciplinary specialty medical practice is seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist who is friendly, energetic, and organized. Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide outstanding customer service
  • Greet patients and guests in a professional, friendly, and hospitable manner
  • Check patients in/out, verify patient demographics, collect copayments, and update insurances as appropriate
  • Answer, screen, and route incoming telephone calls with professional etiquette
  • Answer routine inquiries and forward complex inquiries to appropriate personnel
  • Schedule follow-up appointments
  • Audit scheduled appointments
  • Verify commercial insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Process authorizations for HMO and Medicare office visits
  • Keep waiting room neat and stocked with magazines and cups for water
  • Perform a variety of other clerical and reception duties

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a medical office (e.g. medical office administrative assistant, medical assistant certification, etc.) is highly desirable
  • Previous workers' compensation experience preferred
  • Previous HMO and PPO insurance verification experience
  • Working knowledge of EMR systems preferred
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Outgoing and energetic personality
  • Excellent phone etiquette
  • Highly effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Dedicated to providing excellent service to all patients
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Exercised patience in a high-volume, high-stress environment
  • Great team player
  • Type at least 40 wpm
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • May require some travel to one of our offsite clinics
