Package Pavement is Hiring a Maintenance Helper Near Milan, NY
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Observe and listen to mechanical devices in operation to locate the cause of trouble
- Dismantle devices to gain access to defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools.
- Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools and power tools.
- Maintain equipment by cleaning and lubricating parts.
- Shovel spilled material from under conveyor belts.
- Train with Plant Operator to learn welding skills using arc-welding equipment.
- Work with Plant Operator changing screens, crusher parts, splicing conveyor belts.
- Assist in cleaning up after work is completed.
- Assist in keeping storage areas and shop clean and neat.
- Complete daily safety inspection reports as assigned.
- Temporarily fill in vacancies in other departments.
- Audit fire extinguishers monthly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience Required:
- None
- Vocational High School Diploma or Technical School courses in machine repair
- Ability to learn and apply techniques and principles of electrical and mechanic repair of machinery.
- Finger and manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination needed to handle hand tools and power tools to perform required repairs
- Ability to climb and work in high places
