The Shop Superintendent is the liaison between Production, Sales, Engineering, and the Quality department.
Provides overall operational management including scheduling, department coordination, and project monitoring for work in process in the facility. Executes and maintains production schedules.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the management, planning and coordination of operations assigned in the shop.
· Coordinates activities with Sales, Engineering, and Quality departments.
· Distribute production schedules and work orders to the shop floor.
· Act as primary source of information for sales department regarding work in process.
· Responsible for efficient and effective planning for production activities to meet on-time delivery commitments.
· Advise management of work in progress status and potential production problems.
· Responsible for shop scheduling and ensuring materials and supplies are ordered for projects as required.
· Research new technologies and alternative methods of efficiency.
· Establish and maintain department standards for productivity, reliability, accuracy, and cleanliness.
· Maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production needs.
· Follows, supports, and participates in Safety management policies and procedures.
· Assist shop personnel in solving problems on the shop floor.
· Controls and minimizes labor expenses.
· Ensures employee development through directed training, performance feedback, and career counseling.
· Willing to work the necessary time it takes to get the required job done.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Required:
· Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
· Strong computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
· Experience with blueprint reading and Flux core welding.
· Ability to manage staff to maximize productivity. Effectively utilize skill base of staff and complete projects on time.
· Strong written and oral communication skills.
· Possess strong math skills.
· Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented
· Demonstrate strong problem solving and deductive reasoning skills.
· Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
· Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
· Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
· Be able to lift 50lbs.
· Must be bilingual. English and Spanish.
