Position Summary
THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION AND HAS NO BENEFITS. ON OR BEFORE EARLY NOVEMBER END DATE.
This is an IBEW Local 1245 represented classification, which has over 100 years of experience representing employees at PG&E.
Responsible for physical aspects of radiation protection and hazardous waste processing including decontaminating, containing, collecting, segregating, categorizing, processing, and packaging hazardous waste and low-level radioactive material for on-site storage and / or off-site shipment.
You will be expected to successfully pass all necessary requirements to don and utilize respiratory protection including a respirator medical, associated training, and subsequent fit test.
If you cannot meet these requirements, this may result in your termination.
You are expected to pass the HAZWOPER and Foreign Material Exclusion monitor qualifications. If you cannot pass and maintain these qualifications, this may result in your termination.
To obtain and maintain employment and unescorted access at DCPP, you must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen, a security background check, psychological screen, computer-based training, and be subject to random drug and alcohol screening.

The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreement, and internal equity.
Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, the starting hourly rate range for this position is $52.35 to $62.

Responsibilities :
Actively attend and participate in department and group tailboards to identify assignments and discuss the work to be done;
uses computer to check training, job qualifications, access work documents and data entry; obtains protective equipment and tools based on job assignments.
May involve operation of a forklift, flatbed truck, all-terrain vehicle (ATV), specialized decontamination equipment, hydrolyzers, various powered portable pumps, and electric hand tools.

g. oil, water, paint, etc.) using vacuum pump, air operated pump etc; uses drum clamp and forklift to empty fluid filled drums;
empties 5-gallon filled paint cans into large drum containers; uses scraping device to clean out cans.
