Pacific Coast Producers (PCP), a growing agricultural cooperative with food production facilities across the West Coast, is seeking a talented and innovative HR Specialist to join our team at our Production Facilities in The Dalles, OR. PCP is dedicated to investing in its people and fostering a culture of service, where each employee can do their best to make affordable, high-quality food for customers across North America.

We have two production facilities located in The Dalles, Oregon, specifically dedicated to processing cherries. The facilities are equipped with advanced sorting and pitting equipment, enabling us to efficiently process large volumes of cherries while maintaining strict quality standards. We take our environmental responsibility seriously and have implemented a number of eco-friendly practices at the facilities, such as water conservation measures and use energy-efficient lighting and equipment to reduce our carbon footprint. Our facilities are an important part of the Pacific Northwest's agricultural industry and play a key role in the production of high-quality cherry products for consumers around the world.

Pay Rate: $25-$30 per hour; candidate will be paid based on their work experience and skills. Full time. This position is eligible for the annual profit-sharing bonus program.

As an HR Specialist, you'll collaborate closely with Operations Management to strategically plan workforce requirements, manage attendance matters, oversee payroll functions, and provide essential administrative support.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Operations Management to strategize and organize needs, including staffing requirements for running production lines.
  • Responsible for creating and posting plants’ crew schedules, notifying leadership about capacity limitations.
  • Manage attendance-related matters and report attendance incidents.
  • Handle employee timecards and oversee payroll functions in HRIS for Operations Management and their respective teams.
  • Perform daily and weekly timecard reconciliation for payroll purposes.
  • Safeguard sensitive information and documents, maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Resolve inquiries and challenges, partnering with HR or Operations Management, and escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Provide general administrative assistance and act as backup for fellow staff.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to employees.
  • Lead projects with a long-term focus while upholding day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years' experience in HR.
  • Prudent handling of confidential information.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Profound written and verbal communication proficiencies.
  • Strong aptitude for problem-solving.
  • Proficient in using MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook at a foundational level.
  • Skillful comprehension of basic instructions, brief correspondence, and memos.
  • Proficiency in composing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Basic mathematical abilities encompassing addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers.
