SUMMARY: The Sanitation Technician cleans assigned areas of the facility, including and not limited to the entire Manufacturing Area and performs related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

• Safely prepares CIP chemicals/solutions for the internal sanitations of required pieces of equipment. 
• Safely Cleans and sanitizes Conveyors and Overheads, Up and Over, Tunnels, Floors, Walls, Garbage Containers and Cleaning Equipment, Dock areas, Exterior Grounds and Parking Lots
• Clean reachable pipes in the facility, white lines and cobwebs.
• Segregate and compact recyclables (cardboard, aluminum, etc.) and remove trash.
• Cleans walls, windows, doors, vents, lights, squeegees standing puddles of water into drains, and collects and empties waste/recycle receptacles, including those containing bio-hazardous materials (e.g. blood or other bodily fluids, etc.).
• Clean exterior grounds, refrigerator (interior and exterior), eyewash stations, water fountains.
• Keeps Sanitation/Cleaning areas always clean.
• Reports food safety and quality problems to Plant Management to initiate action.
• Other duties as assigned or requested.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

COMPETENCIES: Demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to operate a manual/powered pallet jack or lift.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Knowledge of current cleaning methods, materials, and equipment, including chemical cleaning solutions, mops, buckets, wet and dry vacuum cleaners, ladders, and floor care machines; tools used in minor building maintenance and repair; and cleaning and maintenance safety practices. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. One (1) year general work experience.
• Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret reports and work instruction. Ability to respond to common inquires.
• Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematics is needed to determine carton and tray quantities.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions supplied in both written and verbal format. Close attention to detail required to verify product.. 
• Computer Skills: Basic Computer knowledge
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certified Forklift License.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.

The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull, carry and/or move from 10 to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision. 

Repetitive use of the hands/arms/shoulders required in completing required work. 

Moving, handling, and transporting waste containers, must be able to read and comprehend operating manuals and precisely follow oral and written instructions.

Must be able to clean conveyors and overheads, Up and Overs, Tunnels, Floors and Walls.

Must be able to safely perform dilution of chemicals required for Cleaning and Sanitizing and safely handling cleaning chemicals.

Bend and rotate at the waist 45 degrees with full are extension while lifting up to 45 pounds at a rate of 9 times per hour. 

Climb a mobile ladder having 5 steps while carrying weights up to 45 pounds up to 10 times per hour.
