Ozarks Coca-Cola-Dr Pepper Bottling Company is Hiring a Case Packer (5am-5:30pm, 2/2/3/2 Rotating Schedule - R1/R3) Near Springfield, MO

Description

SUMMARY: Responsible to work with Case Packer packaging equipment at levels of beverage quality and production efficiency as determined by management. Case Packer operators are required to operate and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures for packaging, changeovers, preventive maintenance, and sanitation of area. All aspects and requirements of GMP and Food Safety are included.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Physical handling of product packaging materials, supplies and equipment.
  • Adhere to startup/end of run procedures, packaging responsibilities and changeovers.
  • Operate equipment required of the case packer.
  • Inspection of shells to ensure to ensure acceptability.
  • Maintain machine speed at optimum operating levels.
  • Adhere to good manufacturing and safety standards.
  • Responsible for meeting productivity requirements.
  • Maintain orderly and clean work area to comply with Company safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned or requested.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

Requirements

COMPETENCIES: Demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to operate a manual/powered pallet jack or lift.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required. One (1) year general work experience.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret reports and work instruction. Ability to respond to common inquires.
  • Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematics needed to determine shell quantities.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions supplied in both written and verbal format. Close attention to detail required to verify product.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certified Forklift License.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.

The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull, carry and/or move from 10 to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision.

Repetitive use of the hands/arms/shoulders required in completing required work. Bend and rotate at the waist 45 degrees with full are extension while lifting up to 45 pounds at a rate of 9 times per hour. Climb a mobile ladder having 5 steps while carrying weights up to 45 pounds up to 10 times per hour.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (typical production work environment).

The floors of the production area are smooth, however are often wet and slippery and safety shoes/boots are required. Moderate stress may be created by the fast pace of the production operations.
