This position is responsible to help lead and drive forward the execution of all components of the H&S strategy and management system consistent with Corporate and senior leadership expectations. Works with Operational management to ensure that site goals are aligned with relevant business line health and safety (H&S) goals, conforms to corporate policies/procedures and complies with applicable regulations. Works in conjunction with corporate, plant management and plant staff towards continuous safety improvement and support of H&S policies through the implementation of safety procedures consistent with individual facility requirements and applicable H&S regulations, codes and standards.

Essential Job Duties:

• Develops and implements H&S policies: ensures policies and procedures are in place. 
• Assists in the preparation of health & safety reports, as needed, for management & team.
• Provides H&S expertise and support as a resource to facility management and plant.
• Supports individual facility development and deployment of appropriate performance / program standards outlining H&S expectations.
• Assists in development and execution of H&S objectives, targets, strategies and action plans, in conjunction with plant management, to ensure conformance with corporate objectives.
• Supports the development, execution, facilitation and participation in H&S auditing, hazard and safety assessment programs.
• Takes a leadership role in the development of facility H&S.
• Takes a lead role in the development and improvement of job safety analyses (JSA).
• Works with each direct report, where applicable, to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitors and advises on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
• Supports management with special projects and workflow process improvements and other duties as assigned.
