The Team Lead - UI/UX Development's responsibilities include building attractive, creative, and technically sound library, retail websites and Marketing sites. They provide web design and development for OverDrive UI/UX and Marketing web initiatives, including corporate branding, product marketing, A/B testing, user research, prototyping, and marketing for other departments as needed. This position utilizes creativity, innovative ideas, and concepts to create promotional materials and corporate brand in appropriate formats. This position may also include researching new technologies to determine if they can be applied to OverDrive products and projects.
Responsibilities:

• Develop new library / retail websites and create the User Interface as per the customer’s specifications.
• Complete various website modifications (i.e., update pre-existing library websites with superficial refreshes where new look is desired, handle issue reports during testing, make changes requested by the customer via their Account Specialist).
• Adapt and multi-task; work on many sites, including new customers and existing customers at the same time.
• Utilize problem solving skills to implement, review and optimize code developed in house and third parties.
• Create web-based marketing material for internal and external OverDrive, corporate websites, marketing microsites, and other sales/marketing websites.
• Work with IT/QA to develop, test and deploy finished products.
• Own projects from inception through launch.
• Ensures team is aligning work with business priorities.
• Works with UI/UX Manager to evaluate individual performance and delivers regular performance reviews.
• Proactive in identifying and clearing roadblocks for the team.
• Responsible for aligning the team’s work to Product Owner priorities and ensuring efficient sprint delivery.
• Regularly conducts one on one meetings with team members. Ensures the work of the individual team members is reviewed and that team members receive feedback on their work.
• Communicates timeline, scope and develop concerns to UI/UX Manager.
• As a member of the leadership team, demonstrates through decisions, actions and words a commitment to OverDrive’s mission, our sustainability and community outreach initiatives.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1 years of experience leading UI/UX develop team.
• 0 - 3 years’ of website design/development experience in a corporate setting.
• 0 - 3 years’ of experience implementing W3C compliant websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with HTML5.
• A history of delivering quality code efficiently.
• Basic development for a CMS system.
• Solid experience in cross-browser functionality.
• Adobe Creative Suite skills.
• Strong design technical computer knowledge / understanding of Responsive Design.
• Ability to produce final artwork from a concept.
• Good color theory, color matching and composition skills.
• Creative, organized, open to input and suggestions.
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information effectively.
• Leadership skills; ability to effectively manage others.
• Problem solving skills with the ability to understand and communicate specifics of new technologies.
• Well organized with a strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task.
