OverDrive, Inc. is Hiring a Merchandising Specialist Near Cleveland, OH
The Merchandising Specialist's responsibilities include creating and delivering marketing and sales campaigns to library and school customers while maximizing OverDrive’s sales and market share to its network of content partners. This role works across OverDrive teams and content partners on content sales programs, opportunities, and promotions.
Responsibilities:
- Support Publisher Account Services teams to merchandise content and facilitate promotions through all channels (direct marketing and OverDrive Marketplace).
- Merchandises content and facilitates promotions through all channels (direct marketing and OverDrive Marketplace) in collaboration with content partners and Account Managers.
- Interacts with publishers to develop understanding of their catalog and supports merchandising opportunities. Process title lists for sale campaigns.
- Provides awareness and serves as a touchpoint to Sales teams of on-going and upcoming promotions and campaigns.
- Produces themes, topics and lists for ContentWire tailored to different international markets.
- Analyze campaign performance and provide insights for continuous improvement.
- Stay abreast of global publishing trends through review of industry resources including public relations material from publishers, collection development newsletters, industry publications, blogs and book news websites etc.
- Develops and demonstrates novice level subject matter expertise in one or more job function or content areas.
- Prepares and provides internal reports on individual and campaign activities.
- Contributes to development, management, and maintenance of assigned areas of team documentation and information resources in collaboration with team leadership.
- Completes assigned tasks on-time with high degree of quality.
- Completes work activities under direct supervision and instruction.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or equivalent experience.
- Second language preferred (German, Japanese, Korean, etc.).
- 0 - 3 years’ of related experience (marketing, book merchandising, retail, etc.).
- Strong understanding of different cultural contexts and how they impact merchandising strategies.
- Basic knowledge of the book, publishing, entertainment, library, music and digital media industry.
- Basic Excel skills with strong analytical thinking.
- Confident and energetic; professional and team-oriented.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Exceptional time management & organization skills.
- Ability to effectively manage cross-group relationships with other OverDrive teams and content partners.
- Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with partner contacts, outside vendors / contractors and internal staff.
