Position: Business Office Coordinator/ Controller

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Position Purpose/Summary:

The Business Office Coordinator/Controller is responsible for the daily supervision of the Business Office. This includes accounting, banking, cash receipts, cash disbursements, purchasing, accounts payable, check preparation and distribution, general ledger reporting and balancing, financial reports and other miscellaneous financial duties.

Essential Functions:

• Oversee processing of all financial transactions
• Maintains the general ledger
• Responsible for month-end close procedures
• Assist CFO in preparation quarterly board reports and financial statements
• Cash flow forecasting
• Budgeting
• Internal controls and process improvement
• Oversee staff of three (3) in purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
• Work with independent CPA firm for the annual audit and annual 990 tax filing
• Evaluate, implement and manage technology systems
• Oversight of endowment accounting and reporting

Other Skills:

• Knowledge of GAAP
• Proficient in SAGE, Excel and Microsoft Office
• Data analytics skills a plus
• Strong communication skills
• Leadership skills
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Demonstrated sensitivity to maintaining confidential information
