SUMMARY

Instructional Systems Design (ISD) II supports the development, and delivery of Interactive Multi-Media Instruction (IMI) and Computer Based Training (CBT). Products include training media in multi-media, virtual, game-based, and distributive training environments. The ISD II establishes methodologies, processes and working group interaction in all stages of IMI and CBT development to ensure reliable and repeatable results.

Immediate requirements include the re-engineering of classroom style training content to modern delivery methods. Performance Learning Objectives (LO) and job sheets of selected courses must be captured through existing schoolhouse content. Gaps must then be identified and filled through interviewing/observing instructor and as all the requirements are defined, the most appropriate modern training media is established for development based on quantifiable learning science.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the production of innovative, efficient, interactive, and engaging IMI and CBT courseware.
• Develop evaluation tools for the assessment of trainee knowledge & performance.
• Develop, maintain, and update Programs of Instruction/Course of Instruction as directed by ISD team lead.
• Work within a team of ISDs, Graphic Artists, SMEs, and Programmers.
• Scale work efforts to meet production timelines.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in instructional design/adult education or equivalent.
• Three (3) years’ minimum experience in instructional design, content development, and training delivery may be substituted for education. 
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance (potentially up to a Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance) (U.S Citizenship required).
• Familiarity with Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM) Content Planning Module (CPM) / Learning Object Module (LOM).
• Familiarity with MIL-PRF-29612 and MIL-HDBK-29612; and DOD/Navy guidance documents.
• Experience developing courseware outlines, storyboards, graphic requests, onscreen lessons, instructor guides, trainee guides, test questions, and assessments.
• Must be knowledgeable of the courseware development process including job/task analysis, course design, storyboarding, testing, implementation, and validation.
• Familiarity with authoring tools (e.g., Captivate).
• Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Experience with military training is preferred, Navy experience is a plus.
• Recent experience with AIM CPM/LOM is a plus.
• Superior time management and organizational skills.
• Strong written and presentation skills.
• Strong quality assurance/editing skills.

TRAVEL

The expected travel time is less than 25%.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS

Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable on the company’s automobile insurance policy.

Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 25%. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Frequent sitting, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing and seeing up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus; occasional walking or standing, occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
