Outer Cape Health Services, Inc is Hiring a Manager of Patient Access Near Harwich, MA

Summary/Objective

The Manager of Patient Access is responsible for leading Patient Access operations across Outer Cape Health Services Sites and Access Center. The Manager will work collaboratively with the Director of Clinical Support Services and Site Directors to ensure Patient Access functions are supported.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide Administrative oversight and support Day to Day operations for Patient Service Reps (Site Level), Access Center Staff, Referral team and Medical Records. Operational support includes trouble shooting, coaching, conflict resolution and overseeing Lead staff. Monitors metrics and develops performance improvement plans to improve patient /provider/staff interactions and experiences.
  • Assists in preparation for both short- and long-range planning recommendations for all Access areas including: financial clearance activities, scheduling, front desk management, call center, referral management and Patient Access functions.
  • Consistently communicates appropriate information to staff, supporting areas and provides feedback to Director and respective Site directors. Communicates deficits and problems to supervisors/leads with recommended solutions for improvements.
  • Assists in the developing of the annual goals and implements the goals to ensure exemplary customer relations and to obtain accurate registration information to assist in timely, accurate billing.
  • Interviews, recommends hiring, orients, coaches, trains, disciplines and evaluates performance of across Patient Access Department staff.
  • Performs internal audits of Patient Access Registrations to ensure registration information is accurate and meets the billing and regulatory requirements by individual payers as well as OCHS standards.
  • Oversight of all front-end processes, and Essential Data Capture collection responsibilities including proper patient identification, insurance verification, meaningful use data, and patient financial liability.
  • Oversees administrative actions in collaboration with Human Resources and Talent Acquisition. Responsible for completing Annual Performance Reviews (APRs) for all assigned direct reports.

Direct Reports Titles: Patient Service Representative, Lead PSR, Patient Access Specialist, Medical Record Coordinator, Referral Coordinator, Scheduling Specialist.

Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

  • Associates Required in Healthcare, Business, Operations Management.
  • 2-4 years of Supervisory Level Healthcare Experience.
  • Prior Epic knowledge.
  • Duties require a thorough understanding of day-to-day operations of the Patient Access, Referral Management and revenue cycle operations.
  • Must have strong leadership skills, excellent interpersonal skills, as well as excellent organizational skills.
  • Extremely detail-oriented in both verifying own work as well as that of others.
  • Good oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Medical Terminology.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed to work within a team and independently.

Preferred Qualifications, Education, and Experience

  • 3-5 Years of Patient Access, Healthcare Operations Management and Supervision.
  • Bachelors in healthcare management.
  • HFMA Certifications or CHAM Certified or Willing to Achieve within 1 Year of Hire.

Work Environment

The functions of this role are conducted in a clinical environment.

  • This position is full-time on site, exempt, Monday-Friday
