Position: Merchandiser (Non-student position)

Department: General Merchandise/Apparel

Location: Corvallis Main Campus Store

Status/Category: A (Full-Time 35-40 hrs/week); non-exempt; hourly

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide Best in Class customer service on the sales floor and over the telephone

2. Process new merchandise and prepare for sales floor and stock room

3. Maintain an organized back stock area and sales floor

4. Work with buyer(s) to coordinate stock allocation for all store locations

5. Use computerized systems for inventory maintenance – ordering, transfers, out of stock notifications

6. Merchandising – Set up and take down displays on sales floor, work new product onto the floor

7. Support Floor Supervisor in teaching/coaching/directing sales floor team members as needed

REQUIRED DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITY TO

1. Follow established company directives, policies, guidelines and expectations

2. Show consistent dependability in attendance, handling multiple tasks, prioritizing and meeting deadlines

3. Self-starter, with ability to work independently

4. Effectively communicate in a professional manner

5. Use sound judgment when making decisions

6. Maintain performance under pressure and handle difficult situations with customers and/or vendors in a positive manner

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. H.S. Diploma or GED, and

2. Availability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evening and weekend hours, special sales and sporting events

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience in a retail environment

2. Experience using POS systems

3. Knowledge of OSU

Physical Demands: Use a computer keyboard, read a computer screen; work on your feet for extended periods daily. Bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds.
