OSF HealthCare is Hiring an ED Technician I Near BLOOMINGTON, IL

Overview

Starting pay for this position is $18.43/hour; base pay offered may increase based on experience, skills and internal equity. Shift differential of an additional $1.75/hour for 2nd shift included.

**THIS IS A 2ND SHIFT EVENINGS POSITION ONLY - SHIFT WILL BE FROM 3PM-11PM**

Position is eligible for a $2,000 sign on bonus with a 2 year work commitment.

Must be available Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of start week from 8am-4:30pm for clinical orientation. 

POSITION SUMMARY: ​The Emergency Department Technician functions as a member of the emergency department patient care team, under supervision of the registered nurse. The emergency department technician I performs basic patient care procedures to provide for the care, comfort, and safety of patients, including, but not limited to, taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, performing ECG's, post-mold application, crutch-walk teaching, spinal immobilization, basic wound care, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts and communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School/GED Licenses/Certifications: American Heart Associate BLS for healthcare provider CPR Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Work, OR; EMT-B, License in the State of Illinois

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Six or more months experience in a clinical healthcare environment Able to communicate effectively in person; by telephone; and computer messaging Six or more months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
