Job Description
Overview: Ortho Sports Associates, LLC provides orthopedic care at the highest standard. Our practice consists of 11 locations in the Greater Birmingham area and across Central Alabama. What you will do:
· Prepare patients for radiological procedures & take X-rays following established procedures for patient care & safety.
· Protect patients, yourself, & staff from radiation exposure by practicing sound procedures which meet or exceed recommended industry standards.
· Follows policies & procedures for clinical operations to promote continuity of patient care & operations for all locations.
· Develop, mark, & file x-ray film, & maintain film library on EMR. Retrieve & log x-rays requested or sent out for referrals or copying, faxing, emailing etc.
· Serves as a member of the clinical team assisting physicians & delivering direct patient care.
· Ensure that patient chart entries are made accurately & in a timely manner; forward charts as appropriate.
· Clean & disinfect x-ray room & equipment.
· Perform x-ray quality assurance tests & maintain x-ray quality assurance records.
· Obtain quality diagnostic radiographs as requested by physicians.
· Log completed radiological procedures. Complete paperwork accurately & on time.
· Maintain examination rooms. Stock necessary office & radiological supplies.
· Request, retrieve and track films to and from other departments or centers.
· Perform other tasks as assigned.
Position Requirements
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Completion of course in limited-scope/basic/LMRT/NCT radiological course.
· Clinical-based setting: 1 year
· At least 1 year experience as x-ray tech.
· Previous experience in an orthopedic office and/or radiology department desirable.
