Orthopedic Medical Assistant needed for a busy two surgeon Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Clinic in our Fort Worth Office. Casting skills will be required but training offered. This position is a PART-TIME hourly position, with a schedule of Tuesday and Friday from 8:00 to 5:00 PM. Consistency, reliability and responsibility are highly valued within our practice. This position is the liaison between patients and the physician during clinic.
SCHEDULE: Tuesdays & Fridays 8:00-5:00 PM
Duties include:
1. Expedite clinic flow by assisting in escorting patients with their charts between x-ray, exam rooms, and front desk.
2. Prepare the exam rooms and patients for physician exam for the physician
- Clean and disinfect exam rooms in-between patients
- Open x-ray images on the computer for physician review
3. Apply and/or remove casts/splints/DME per physician order
4. Patient teaching (at home therapy exercises, wound care, etc.) per physician order
5. Remove stitches/staples for post-operative patients per physician order
6. Prep patients for corticosteroid injections per physician order
7. Assist the physician with any in-office procedures
8. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
1. Familiar with medical terminology
2. Strong written and verbal communication skills
3. Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus
