Orthopaedic Associates of West Florida is Hiring a CLINIC LEAD - COUNTRYSIDE Near Clearwater, FL

In this role you will:

Be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the Clinical Assistants ensuring they are accessible to their team. They assist the Clinic Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the clinics and staff. They are charged with being the first point of contact for the medical staff in dealing with employee issues in order to facilitate problem situations. The Clinic Lead is also responsible for ensuring the clinics are properly staffed and prepared for clinic, zones are cleaned and properly stocked at all times.

Key Responsibilities All Clinic Leads:

  • Assists the Clinic Supervisor in overseeing the on-site clinic operations/daily flow of assigned zones.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to all the Clinical Assistants ensuring they are accessible to their team.
  • Creates a positive work environment for staff by motivating others and encouraging positive thinking and teamwork.
  • Monitors clinics to ensure FOI customer service standards are met.
  • Ensure all medical supplies are ordered, received (packing slip sent to Purchasing Coordinator), unpacked and placed in storage while rotating stock (Satellite Clinic Leads).
  • Ensure clinic zones are adequately stocked for the clinic, including medical supplies and injectable medications.
  • Verifies the Clinical Assistants at their location are cleaning and re-stocking exam rooms,
  • Ensures injectable medications and pharmaceutical samples cabinets are stocked and checked weekly for expiration dates.
  • Confirms all open injectable vials and bottles (i.e. Alcohol, Benzoin, Peroxide, etc.) have date opened and initials of party who opened.
  • Ensures all open injectable vials and bottles are disposed of 30 days after opening.
  • Oversees that sharps boxes and red bags are changed and disposed of properly following OSHA guidelines.
  • Makes certain proper label is placed on each bio-hazardous waste sharp container located in exam rooms, by the sinks in the zones, and in the cast room after Bio-Spec pickup.
  • Replaces all checklists on an annual basis (AED, Eye Wash Station, Injectable Medications, etc.)
  • Ensures all Personal Protective Equipment (Shoe covers, gown, gloves, mask, goggles/glasses, cap, and CPR mouthpiece) are available for use in each zone (located by the sink).
  • Ensures that the Spill Kit (Basin, cat litter, and hand broom with dustpan) is available for use in each zone (located under the sink).
  • Verifies STAT Kit and AED (if applicable) are inspected on a monthly basis.
  • Performs weekly injectable medication inspections and discards expired or undated stock.
  • Performs monthly eye station and oxygen tank inspections.
  • Performs the monthly cleaning and spore testing of Autoclave (if applicable).
  • Provides Clinic Supervisor or Manager with a complete status report of clinic tasks and operations on a weekly basis.
  • Works with fellow Leads to prepare agenda and conduct annual Clinical Assistant meetings
  • Ensures staff complies with standard corporate policies such as clocking in, dress code, parking, and breaks.
  • Works out ways to improve departmental efficiency. Conducts regular departmental meeting with staff to go over ideas, issues, training, new data, etc.
  • Keeps management informed of important issues within the department.
  • Keeps Clinical Assistants informed of important issues in other departments and the company as a whole.
  • Identifies any area of backlog and gets these addressed and made known to management.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Assure compliance with all company plans, policies and procedures set forth by the Florida Orthopaedic Institute
  • All other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities Full Time Clinic Leads

  • Works as a backup for the Senior Clinic Lead/Trainer, providing training to all new Clinical Assistants ensuring they are well trained, understand the purpose of their position and how it fits into the overall the organization.
  • Ensures Clinical Assistants run their clinics efficiently and up to Physicians standards.
  • Monitors workloads for all Clinical Assistants, provides assistance as needed and works with Clinic Supervisor and Manager to recommend solutions.
  • Ensures all Physicians CA Protocols are up to date.
  • Acts as a back up to Clinical Assistants for call outs and PTO requests after all Float staff has been utilized.
  • Acts as a Lead for the Emergency Response Team for their assigned location.
  • Provides assistance to Clinical Assistant Supervisor with management of Clinical Assistants daily job duties as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

About You:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Must be willing to travel to all of OAWF's clinic locations

We Would Love It If You Also Had:

  • Spanish Bi-Lingual a Plus!
  • Medical Assistant Diploma or MA Certification preferred
  • Athena EMR experience
  • Suture removal experience a plus
  • Orthopaedic experience a plus
  • Preferably three years in a related field
