Description

Summary: Under the direction of the Board of Directors or designee, diagnose and treat arthritis and other diseases of the joints, muscles, and bones. Conduct research to determine the cause and find better treatments for helping patients fight and overcome these disabling and often fatal diseases 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Diagnose and treat musculoskeletal and rheumatic diseases 

• Study patient symptoms and evaluate their effects on the immune system 

• Asses joint-related conditions 

• Evaluate lab results and other advanced tests 

• Collaborative and Collegial Patient Care Planning with our MSK specialists 

• Design tailored treatment plans and discuss them with patients 

• Send copies of test results to referring physicians 

• Assists leadership and team members in activities that add value to positive patient outcomes and improve clinical operations 

• Maintain clinic schedule; open, block, adjust as needed

• Enter all orders electronically (Athena EMR experience a plus)

• Provide patient education regarding prescribed and recommended over the counter (OTC)

medication 

• Educate the patient and/or family about diagnostic procedures, treatment plans, and provide pre- and post-operative education. 

• Partner with administration and physician partners for the Rheumatology Program development and expansion of services 

• Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:

• Holds board certification. 

• Obtained Medical Doctorate or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine

• Rheumatology Fellowship in progress/completed; preferred 

• Active PA Medical Licensure

• Requited Certifications 

• Act 34 PA Criminal Background 

• Act 151 PA Child Abuse History 

• Act 114 FBI Cogent Clearance Fingerprinting 

• Ability to communicate effectively and maintain a positive rapport with patients and colleagues 

• Ability to multitask 

• Possess excellent people skills 

• Self-motivated 

• Flexible team player
