OrthoIllinois is Hiring a Clinical Support Admin Near Rockford, IL

Job Purpose:

The Clinical Support Admin is responsible for overseeing and coordinating day-to-day administrative activities of a multi sub specialist clinic team members. Coordinates with patient care team, clinic scheduler and surgery scheduler to ensure appropriate management of administrative duties.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Retrieves and enters patient data for MRIs, X-Rays, EMGs, etc.
  • Coordinates appointment, surgery, and therapy scheduling as needed
  • Receives incoming patient calls and returns patient calls in a timely matter
  • Records accurate, complete, legible and timely documentation as needed in the patient’s medical record
  • Ensures high quality clinical care for patients by reviewing and researching concerns or complaints and recommending corrective action as appropriate.
  • Monitors and follows-up on ordered patient tests (MRIs, CTs, labs, etc), patient referrals; ensures physician is kept up-to-date by regularly communicating results.
  • Completes patient paperwork in a timely manner
  • Anticipates and proactively plans for practitioner and patient needs
  • Provides open and timely communication and information to patients, families, and practitioners (as appropriate)
  • Reports pertinent observations and information, both written and verbal, to appropriate staff.
  • Maintains all necessary certifications and licensure, including first aid and/or CPR, state licensure, national certifications, and continuing education.
  • Stays up to date on required trainings such as OSHA, Medicare fraud/waste training, blood borne pathogens training, and sexual harassment training.
  • Maintains strict patient confidentiality and follows all HIPAA guidelines.
  • Identifies and recommend policies and procedures as needed to ensure quality, compliance, accuracy and cost efficiency.
  • Provides patient care coverage when needed and performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or ability to obtain Registered Orthopedic Technician (ROT) certification successfully within 6 months from date of hire and maintain certification renewal every 2 years, required
  • One year of experience in a similar role, preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft and Google Suites, preferred
  • Experience with EMR systems preferred

Environmental/Working Conditions:

Working environment is in an office/clinic setting.

Physical/Mental Demands:

  • Stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time
  • Sit, stoop, and kneel
  • Excellent vision, hearing, smell, and balance
  • Requires lifting, carrying, or moving heavier objects (i.e. pushing or pulling up to 100 pounds and lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
  • Possess full range of motion in shoulders and arms, including reaching above or below the shoulder.
