ORTC is Hiring a Program Physician Near Springfield, OR

Springfield Treatment Center is seeking a Program Physician to provide compassionate care to our wonderful clients!

Contract role working 8-10 hours a week. Combination of on-site and telehealth.

STC is an adult outpatient opioid treatment program/substance abuse treatment provider focused on treating those suffering from an addiction to opioids (pain pills, heroin, morphine, etc.) through a combination of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) with either methadone or buprenorphine/suboxone, detoxification, and intensive one-on-one and group counseling, all in an outpatient setting.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Medically responsible for all clients enrolled in the treatment program, to include special populations (e.g., pregnant clients, HIV , clients with Hepatitis C, clients with co-occurring disorders).
  • Must be able to assess suitability of individuals applying foradmission as well as their ongoing physical and mental stability for outpatient substance abusetreatment.
  • Ensure the timely completion of admission physicals, annual physicals, medical histories, laboratory testing (including TB screening) consistent with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards and sound medical practice
  • Review all laboratory results as well as medical documentation from other healthcare providers and manage each client according to established best practice and accrediting and regulatory guidelines
  • Screen clients for common medical co-morbidities and evaluate co-existing medical conditions to identify potential medication impact/drug interactions, to include over-the counter (OTC) medications
  • Prescribe and titrate the appropriate dosage of methadone consistent with the client's medical and addiction history to establish a maintenance dose
  • Order dose increases, decreases, detoxification, or supervised withdrawal after assessment of the client and his/her current treatment history
  • Write medical orders based upon the individual needs of the client and sign off on all medical orders

Qualfications and Skills

  • Licensure in Oregon as a Physician
  • Current DEA License.
  • DATA WAIVER or ability to obtain DATA WAIVER.
  • Meet Oregon requirements for employment in an opioid treatment program.
  • We follow federal guidelines regarding prohibited substances, even those legal at the state level.
  • Proof of fully-vaccinated status required or possession of exemption to comply with Governor mandate.
