Orscheln Industries is Hiring a Training Specialist Near Moberly, MO

Summary:

Mentor all new hires and assist in the onboarding process. Assist in training all employees in a classroom setting and assist with training in the production environment. Track and document employees progress to the operator qualification check sheets and matrix. Provide ongoing support and follow up with new hires throughout their probationary period. .

Preferred Educational Experience:

High School degree or equivalent.

Preferred Work Experience:

One (1) to three (3) years of production experience in various departments with progressive responsibilities. Prior experience in a training position preferred.

Essential Functions:

  • Positive communication and is advocate of the company to ensure all employees feel welcomed and receive the proper training to be successful.
  • Mentor all new staff members
  • Follow up with production staff members on a daily bases for the first two weeks. Follow up with the lead person and ensure proper training occurs.
  • Video production areas for continuous improvement to improve the commutation and the usage of job instructions.
  • Utilize video editing software to edit videos for virtual JIS
  • Coordinate with manufacturing engineering to assist in creating/updating JIS
  • Conduct Train the Trainer training.
  • Train production staff on blueprint reading, controls plans, routings, measurement tools in a classroom setting and follow up in the production environment.
  • Assists with hands-on training in the production environment.
  • Assist employees with problems concerning how to perform specific tasks related to their position
  • Work with each department to review operator check sheets and keep current.
  • Monthly follow up with employees under 90 days of employment and be able to evaluate progress to competencies in current position and communicate status on qualification.
  • Work with all departments to ensure annual training requirements are being met.
  • Understand and know requirements for all company certifications.
  • Understand the IFS functions that are utilized in the production environment.
  • Oversee and create quizzes in the Orscheln Learning Center.
  • Measure the effectiveness of training.
  • Conduct/coordinate Stay Interviews with New Hires.

  • Ability to perform all safety critical functions. The product must be built to the designated specs approved and can not be deviated or substituted. The control, performance and tolerance are essential for the part to function so that it does not jeopardize public safety or it’s compliance with government regulations.
  • Must be able to recognize and call the critical characteristic symbols as listed on the blueprints.

Non Essential Functions:

  • Backup for HR portion of new hire orientation.
  • Make suggestions on improvements in for the work environment
  • Assist/Communicate with supervisors on progress and status of each employee’s qualification.
  • Update qualification matrix
  • Coordinate and schedule all training requirements.
  • Have the ability or learn to changeover machines necessary for the assembly of the product.
  • Must know or learn proper procedure of handling non-conforming material.
  • Other duties as assigned.
