Position Summary

Provide complete processing of all aspects of real estate lending, (including both conventional mortgage originations, as well as both closed end and open ended second mortgages), from application to post-closing/funding, ensuring compliance with credit union policies, procedures, and government regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Process applications from loan originators. Gather and compile required information as needed for the loan file including but not limited to income documentation, financial information, insurance verification, credit items, etc. Order/review all searches (i.e. appraisal, title, flood, tax certificate, etc.). Verify figures as submitted by Loan Originator and validate support documentation. May be responsible for ordering additional verifications including employment, rent, etc.
- Submit completed applications to underwriting. Clear conditions and schedule loan closings according to timeframes as prescribed by purchase contract and or reasonable timeframe for refinances. Review title and appraisal for accuracy and follow all regulations and guidelines established by Credit Union guidelines, secondary market and investor guidelines and regulations established by State and Federal law. Work directly with realtors, title agents, insurance providers and the members to coordinate timely closings.
- Review final HUD for accuracy and provide members with updated disclosures, appraisal, and any other information as it applies to coordination of preparing the loan to close. Review final closing docs for funding approval and provide funding authorization to closing table. Follow up post-closing to ensure that all documents have been recorded properly and received by the CU. Provide final loan package to compliance for QC review.
- Post-Closing, the processor will board the loan onto the core system, according to the terms as agreed by the applicants in their loan disclosures.
- Must present a professional image and proper personal appearance according to Credit Union standards. Must be able to communicate professionally via phone/email/in person with Applicants. Members, OCU Personnel, and Vendors.
- Support the Credit Union's culture of compliance by understanding and complying with all federal and state regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC as applicable, including but not limited to adherence with BSA/AML and OFAC policies and procedures regarding large currency transactions, monetary instruments, wire transfers, member identification, OFAC screening, the completion of training, and reporting suspicious activity to the BSA Officer.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Education
- High School graduate or equivalent
- At least 3 years mortgage processing experience and 3 years Member Relations or related experience / displaying accuracy, professionalism, courtesy, and knowledge of applicable Federal Regulations.
Skills
- Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills.
- Demonstrated telephone etiquette skills.
- Advanced level data processing and Word knowledge (required).
- Basic level Excel knowledge (required).
- Demonstrated ability with Calyx Point or similar loan origination platforms.
- Demonstrated ability with Episys Quest (Symitar) (preferred).
- 10-key adding machine (minimum) or HP-12c Financial Calculator (preferred).
- Fluent in Spanish is helpful but not required.
- Must be able to read and interpret general policies and procedures and/or government regulations.
- Must have the capacity to resolve outstanding issues based on level of authority or knowledge
- Must be highly organized and have the ability to handle multiple files concurrently.
- Must be highly motivated and display effective oral and written communication skills.
