Orlando Oral Health is Hiring a Dental Assistant Near Orlando, FL

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist during patient procedures and providing excellent patient care. This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and rewarding dental practice.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including passing instruments, suctioning, and providing support to ensure patient comfort
- Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dentist
- Perform basic dental laboratory procedures, such as pouring impressions and fabricating temporary crowns
- Provide oral hygiene instructions to patients and educate them on proper dental care techniques
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical documentation systems (such as Epic) while adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Assist with scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and maintaining a clean and organized dental office environment
- Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment according to infection control guidelines
- Monitor patients' vital signs during procedures as needed

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred
- X-Ray certification required; additional certifications such as CPR or Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) certification are a plus
- Proficiency in medical terminology, dental assisting techniques, and dental office procedures
- Familiarity with medical coding and insurance billing processes is beneficial
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, dentists, and other team members
- Knowledge of medical imaging software for capturing and storing digital x-rays
