LOCATION: Liberty School & Jerling Jr. High

WORK* SCHEDULE: *
July 7, 2022 (set-up day 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.)
July 11, 2022 through August 4, 2022 from 7:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. (STUDENT HOURS: 8:00AM - NOON)
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

RATE OF PAY:
Certified licensed positions - $36.45 per hour
Classified support position based on the Support Contract Collective Bargaining Agreement or for current Orland 135 support employees rate is based on 2021-2022 hourly rate of pay

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • ISBE PEL with Elementary Education Self-Contained endorsement required
  • Endorsement in ESL, Reading, Math and/or LBS1

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

  • Experience working with at-risk students
  • Experience teaching at the K-8 level
  • A commitment to teach the full summer school schedule of 4 weeks

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides instruction in reading and/or math to students in an in-person environment
  • Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
  • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, establishes clear objectives, learning targets for all lessons, units, projects, and communicates these objectives to students.
  • Assesses the process of students and provides reports as necessary.
  • Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.
  • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  • Sets and maintains standards of classroom behavior for students.
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
