Supply Planning, Senior Manager or Director

Position DescriptionReporting to the Senior Director of Supply Chain Operations with a dotted line to the VP of Supply Chain, the Senior Manager/Director of Supply Planning will spearhead all strategic supply chain planning, forecasting, and initiatives. This pivotal role focuses on developing, implementing, and refining supply chain strategies to support our expanding operations. Responsibilities include shaping comprehensive supply planning processes, predictive scenario modeling, developing metrics, and managing data-driven processes to ensure scalability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, define, and refine operational supply chain processes, including crafting tools, systems, and reports to achieve supply chain excellence.
  • Lead the strategic direction of our supply chain to ensure timely, budget-compliant delivery of materials for our projects.
  • Continuously enhance supply-demand forecasts, metrics, and reporting to aid executive decision-making.
  • Optimize comprehensive supply planning strategies in collaboration with the Sourcing team and suppliers.
  • Generate reports and recommendations to identify and mitigate supply chain operational risks, focusing on regulatory impacts.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to create a KPI reporting dashboard for regular updates on material performance.
  • Work with cross-functional teams and external vendors to synchronize demand forecasts and material planning with business goals.
  • Innovate and enhance supply chain execution by analyzing project operations.
  • Mentor junior supply chain staff, promoting a data-driven approach, consistent reporting, and professional integrity.
  • Regularly perform supply chain analysis to identify cost-saving and optimization opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain robust relationships with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external suppliers.

Basic Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Over 8 years of experience in strategic roles within supply chain management, focusing on forecasting, manufacturing, or vendor management.
  • Experience in managing both onshore and offshore direct reports, including overseeing headcount and budget.
  • Expertise in predictive modeling and data analysis to inform strategic decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
  • Deep understanding of the solar energy supply chain, including key components like PV modules and inverters.
  • Knowledge of international logistics concerning equipment and material shipping.
  • APICS certification or equivalent is highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in using project management tools like SmartSheet and Confluence.
