Organization Ink, Inc. is Hiring a Bookkeeper Near Great Barrington, MA

Position Summary:

Bookkeepers are responsible for managing the bookkeeping of assigned clients and general administrative duties. Primary responsibilities include accounts payable, bank deposits, reconciliations, and other finance-related duties. This position acts under the supervision of the Senior Accountant/CPA.

Responsibilities Include:

Completing administrative & accounting activities for Organization Ink and assigned accounts, including:

  • Maintaining records according to generally accepted accounting principles
  • Providing general office administration support to ensure effective telephone, mail and email communications both internally and externally to maintain professional image
  • Managing a strategy for internal & external workload and meetings according to priority
  • Providing Accounting support to Clients in accordance with company policy, Client agreements and guidance of Management; includes but not limited to:
  • Accounts Payable: Bill entry/review, Vendor payments, Vendor Reconciliations
  • Accounts Receivable: Invoicing/Payment Receipt, Statements, Collections
  • Cash Management
  • Customer Relationship Management
  • Sales/Meals Tax filings
  • Understand and Complete Financial Statements
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Completion of local licensing applications/renewals
  • Budget development
  • Monthly Account Reviews

Additional Duties:

  • Manage third party application billing to ensure proper client billing,
  • Provide backup support for internal AP processes.
  • Assist with client billing
  • Participates as needed in special department projects.
  • Additional duties and projects, as assigned.

Work Environment

This position operates in a remote office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time un-exempt hybrid position. Position requires occasional local travel to meet with clients and company events, etc. Regular work hours take place Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. with the occasional need for overtime.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred
  • At least two or more years of previous experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office™ (specifically Excel and QuickBooks Online™
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices and procedures
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is absolutely required, as well as a track record of reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits
  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
  • Ability to organize and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment with deadline pressures
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with multiple clients preferred
  • Experience with different payroll systems preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
