The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs delegated clinical and administrative duties within the supervising physician’s scope of practice consistent with the CNA’s education, training, and demonstrated competency. This includes escorting patients to the treatment area, taking and recording vital signs, cleaning chairs and preparing private infusion rooms. In addition, the CNA assists in maintaining the practice environment in a clean, orderly condition. Functions as an integral member of the Department by contributing to new ideas for improving customer service and reducing costs. Provides high quality customer service to both external and internal customers that meet or exceeds the service standards of the health care industry. This duty includes prompt and professional communication efforts, face-to-face customer contact skills, flexible coverage of internal service needs and the continuous application of process improvement methods and skills for office services.
Patient Care. takes and records vital signs such as blood pressure, height, weight; provides patients with needs to make them comfortable such as blankets or drinks; assists nursing with tasks that fall within scope of responsibility; observes and reports changes in patient's conditions, assists with enrollment of patients with infusion pumps
Facility Maintenance. Stocks and orders supplies in designated areas; cleans chairs and rooms with disinfectant; takes inventory of supplies.
Miscellaneous. Obtain blood from hospital lab when needed; performs tasks as needed and appropriate for CNA.
