Department of Revenue is recruiting for a Limited Duration PC Analytics Specialist – Research Analyst 4 (RA4) position. We are looking for talented, detail-oriented individuals to join our Information Technology Services Division in the Processing Center Unit. This position is headquartered in our Salem office; however, the successful candidate may be eligible for in state hybrid work. Hybrid work consists of performing duties onsite in a standard office environment and working remotely.

Limited Duration: This is a limited duration appointment that is expected to end on or before April 31, 2025. Limited duration appointments are benefits eligible and have a designated maximum length of service. This position has the potential to become permanent.

In order to be considered for Department of Revenue recruitments, you must reside within (or be willing to relocate to) the state of Oregon.

What You Will Be Doing

· Serves as the section leader to analyze, interpret, and explain technical data, trends, and reports. Plans, designs, and implements complex analytical and statistical projects relating to the agency's processing systems and procedures.

· Recommends program action based on statistical findings, including application of relevant policies, statutes, administrative rules, and procedures relevant to processing practices.

· Writes and oversees the use of computer report generator language and uses software packages to construct simulation models, produce statistical analysis, and to retrieve, edit, and tabulate data from various databases and files.

· Develops research design, including necessary data collection and appropriate methods and tools of analysis, including appropriate levels of rigor necessary to result in confidence in the analysis.

This Is What You Need To QualifyA Bachelor's Degree in any disciplines that included six-quarter units in statistics or quantitative analysis methods and procedures, and three years experience using computerized applications to independently gather, compile, and analyze data and prepare narrative or statistical reports. Two of the three years must have included coordinating complex research projects.

Five years of research experience using computerized applications to independently gather, compile, and analyze data and prepare narrative or statistical reports. Two of the five years must have included coordinating complex research projects.

In addition to the above requirements, some positions require one or more of the following:

(Depending on the position, the amount or experience and education will vary and be decided by the appointing authority at the time of recruitment.)
Experience in using trends such as social, economic, or industrial to do analytical research
Experience using advanced statistical or quantitative analysis computer applications
College-level course work in advanced statistics or quantitative analysis that includes such methods as multiple regression, factor analysis, analysis of variances, and discriminate analysis
