Orchard Park Health and Rehabilitation Center is Hiring an AP PR HR Director Near Tacoma, WA

POSITION SUMMARY: Administers the center’s payroll and serves as the Benefits Designee for the center. Also acts as a center liaison with Area offices for payroll, benefits, and human resources. Coordinates the flow of applicants and employment paperwork for staffing purposes and maintains the employment records (including in-Service records) of the center’s employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Exercises integrity and confidentiality. Maintains personal employee information.
including but not limited to medical, pay, demographic, discipline, family matters in the strictest confidence and in accordance with policy and legal standards. Protects company confidential information.
2. Serves as the center payroll representative by processing payroll in accordance with policies and procedures and by assisting center employees in resolving payroll issues.
3. Coordinates center applicant flow processes from sourcing through selection. Completes reference checks, criminal background checks and ensures that applicant drug tests are completed along with all other necessary employment paperwork.
4. Coordinates and participates in bi-weekly Welcoming Program. Ensures all new employees are trained in time clock practices and creates employee badges.
5. Serves as the benefits designee for the center and ensures that all employees receive the required information regarding benefits and processes the benefits paperwork. Liaises with Corporate Benefit Services to address employee issues/inquiries.
6. Conducts Basic Computer Training (equipment, login, keyboarding, and system navigation) for all new employees.
7. Conducts annual in-service non-clinical mandatory education for all employees and maintains documentation.
8. Monitors Performance Evaluation Schedule (including 90 day and annual reviews) for all employees.
9. Directs employees to appropriate resources in response to employee needs.
10. Creates and maintain personnel files/records (manual and electronic) as well as Center employee- related files/records including Benefit Accruals, Service Date Adjustments, I-9 forms, Licensure/Certification/Education, OSHA, Workers’ Compensation, Unemployment Claims, and Employee Health/Medical Records (i.e. Drug Testing, CPR, Physicals, FMLA) according to policy and legal standards. Ensures the quality, accuracy and timeliness of the information.
11. Tracks I-9 work authorization documents to ensure work authorization documents are kept current.
12. Remains current in the understanding of all company benefit programs and benefit policies; Is well versed in the understanding of ADA and FMLA.
13. Coordinates Center programs, e.g. Workers’ Compensation, Employee Recognition, Employee Communications (Corporate-Big Blue Board, Corporate Integrity, other government mandated and center-related), and Special Events. May coordinate Safety Program.
14. May represent the center at unemployment hearings and workers compensation hearings.
15. May process Accounts Payable as directed and in accordance with policies and procedures.
16. Acts as Back-Up to Center Scheduling Manager.
17. Performs other duties as assigned.
COMPLIANCE:
1. Complies with applicable legal requirements, standards, policies and procedures including but not limited to those within the Compliance and Ethics Program, Standard/Code of Conduct, Federal False Claims Act and HIPAA.
2. Participates in required orientation and training programs.
3. Promptly reports concerns and suspected incidences of non-compliance to supervisor, Compliance Liaison or to the Compliance Officer via the Integrity Hotline.
4. Cooperates with monitoring and audit functions and investigations.
5. Participates, as requested, in quality assurance and process improvement activities.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
▪ High school diploma.
▪ Two years of experience in payroll, benefits or human resources required.
▪ Experience using computer to support work activities.
