Position Responsibilities:

• Performs and participates in decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment
• Inspects all equipment and instruments for proper function and/or damage and reports to the appropriate person
• Demonstrates proper use of the ultrasonic cleaner
• Demonstrates proper use of PPE equipment during decontamination/cleaning process
• Performs other duties as assigned or required
• Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Central Processing background and experience are required
• Central Processing Technologist Certification is preferred
• Able to stand, walk, sit, squat, pull, push, and lift over 50 pounds
• Must be flexible with hours
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds
